This is the response from Heyl Berlin, the manufacturer of Dimaval, regarding our inquiry about DMPS availability and the expected delivery date:

"Unfortunately, we are currently unable to deliver both pack sizes of Dimaval ampoules (1 ampoule and 5 ampoules). Due to a manufacturing optimization that requires an official regulatory application, there is currently no confirmed delivery date. We hope that the product will be available again from December 2026.

Regarding Dimaval hard capsules, packs of 10 hard capsules (PZN 16837711) with an expiration date of 01/2027 are currently in stock and have been reduced in price due to the short remaining shelf life."

UPDATE! The expected return of Dimaval® ampoules is further delayed until the end of Q1 2027.

Although Heyl had hoped in an earlier communication from June 2026 to bring the injection solution back to the market by December 2026 following manufacturing optimization, further delays have occurred. The latest status directly from the manufacturer confirms that the inability to deliver the injection solution will last until the end of March 2027.

If purely oral administration of Dimaval® hard capsules is insufficient for your clinical cases or mobilization tests, alternative treatment regimens must be considered temporarily:

• Oral Chelation Therapy: Direct transition of patients to Dimaval® 100 mg hard capsules (standard adult dose for chronic poisoning is usually 3–4 capsules per day, divided and taken on an empty stomach).
• Sodium Thiosulfate (Na-Thiosulfate): As an alternative chelating substance, especially for acute exposures or specific indications, as also highlighted by MicroTrace Minerals.
• Other Chelating Agents: Depending on the specific heavy metal profile (e.g., D-Penicillamine/Metalcaptase for copper or DMPS derivatives via international pharmacies, if legally permissible).
